Modesty
These plaster fig leaves grace the privates of
many Vatican Statues.

Rooms
of statues, rooms of paintings, rooms of frescos, all predictably
magnificent. But then, there, in the courtyard...they
couldn't be...they are! Bathtubs!
And not just any bathtubs--like
everything in the Vatican, these are super-size, and utterly
elegant. Some more than five feet high and nine feet long,
carved from a single block of fine granite or marble, polished
to a mirrored sheen.

I overheard a tour
guide say that Cleopatra bathed in this pink granite tub when
she visited Rome ...could it be true?

There's not a lot to say about these, I just
think they're beautiful.
