Moving
from room to room in the Uffizi, I marked an inner transition
from sadness to anger, as echoed in these paintings.
No longer the suffering victim, in the last few days I
had moved from "poor me" to "pissed off."
I didn't want to kill him, but to kill
that part of me which still loved him so much. Fortunately
there were so many other things to pay attention to here,
in this city brimming with marvels, that it was impossible
to dwell for long on the situation I had left behind
me.
