Saintly Bruschetta, Assisi, Italy. The best meal I had in Italy began with this scrumptious appetizer. The warm and crunchy toasted bread was topped with fresh tomatoes and angelic olive oil, braised local mushrooms, creamy artichoke sauce, and buttery melted gorgonzola. I can heartily recommend the Taverna dei Consoli restaurant, romantically overlooking the
Piazza del Comune.
