It was here in 1857 that legendary Neuhaus Chocolatiers began. Belgium's oldest chocolate maker, Neuhaus is also one of its most esteemed and expensive. Although their success has bred numerous offspring (over 2000 Neuhaus stores exist worldwide), this is the original, still in the same storefront where it all started. When I visited, the window display was a fantasy of edible delights, featuring larger-than-life-size bunny-shaped confections. But where can you find the best chocolates in Belgium? Of course, it all comes down to each individual's own tastes, but this Washington Post article has some good advice, and can serve as a starting place for your own sweet exploration. |
