IRELAND<< YESTERDAY'S PICTUREALL PICTURES

Fountain of Faith, Knock, Ireland. On August 21, 1879, two local women reported seeing a holy apparition that changed the history of this little west-Ireland town forever.

Humble Knock soon became a major pilgrimage destination for Catholics around the world (including Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa), and its holy waters are now conveniently dispensed by a long row of free fountains (blessed weekly by a priest).

If you forget to bring your own bottle, no worries, the shops surrounding the chapel will gladly sell you one of any size you desire, from an ounce to a gallon.
