Transparent government, Berlin, Germany. Designed by British architect Sir Norman Foster, the glass cupola atop the Reichstag is a symbol of the new, reunited Germany. Completed in 1999, tours are free, although lines can be long.

I visited just before sunset, and found it refreshingly uncrowded, with great light for photos.
