Cloister Guards, Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona Cathedral's 14th century Cloister is home to an unusual group: 13 geese populate its central courtyard. Why 13? They are said to honor the 13-year old martyr Santa Eulalia, killed by Romans in the 4th century. Her remains are laid to rest in the crypt below the church.
