Bear, Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic. The moat of Cesky Krumlov's picturesque castle has been the traditional home of several bears.

Once upon a time these beasts were meant to protect the castle, but these days they appear to spend most of their time just lying around looking bored. Thus, I imagine an intruder is more likely to injure himself tripping over one than being eaten by it.

Ironically enough, when I toured the interior of the castle, I discovered that the period furnishings included several rugs that looked oddly familiar.
