So I'm pretending I'm sitting in some cybercafe somewhere, and I'm typing away for about 6 euros an hour, when in actuality I am sitting here, in front of my own beloved computer in the same house I've lived in for, what is it, eight years now?
In answer to the many, many friends and relations who have asked, the answer is still, "No, I'm not gone, yet." And, additionally, "No, I don't know when I'm leaving." The only thing I do know, is that I keep preparing, laying the groundwork for this journey of a lifetime. Because despite the lagging economy, despite of rumors of war, despite stories of growing resentment of Americans abroad and a mounting list of terrorist actions, I still want to go.
