Hi Friends, and my apologies for checking out for so long... believe me, I think about you all the time, and have written many brilliant entries in my head, but none have actually made it onto the page in some time. I pledge to do better, especially because there are so many important, interesting and exciting things that I really want to share with all of you. So this really will be "Fresh almost daily" as promised.
WATER BOTTLE WARNING: You should be aware of the possible dangers in using certain very popular water bottles, namely, the lexan bottles made by Nalgene. There is a growing body of evidence that this material may leach high levels of a harmful chemical into your water. The plastic in question features the number 7 inside the recycling logo. Nalgene also makes bottles using high-density polyethylene (look for #2 inside the recycling logo), which is currently considered safer (although you have to forgo the cool colors, they only come in frosty white).
